The plan has been in the works for several months. My mom wanted to surprise my dad this year by going to the Old Threshers Reunion in Mt. Pleasant, IA during Labor Day weekend. In January, we got the tickets and we planned to camp on site for the entire event. We didn’t reveal our plans to Dad until July. He was so surprised!
After months of anticipation, the time is finally here. We left Springfield Saturday afternoon and arrived this morning. The event doesn’t even start until Wednesday evening and the campground seems full to the brim. Dad and Robert are ready to see all the tractors. Actually, Mom and I are too. There will be parades, crafts, music, in addition to all the tractors!
It’s a perfect place to work this week too. It will be nice to wake up early and get things done for clients, then tootle around in the afternoon. It will be a hot week, but we’ll stay hydrated!!
