We woke up early-ish to some snow accumulation on the ground at the Love’s Truck Stop near Alamo, Michigan. We let the dogs out and made coffee and was on the road by 7:50 AM.
The roads weren’t too bad traveling. We set out sights on heading south and east so we got on I-94 East towards Detroit. We tuned South around Ann Arbor, Michigan.
We crossed the Ohio border at 10:26 AM on hwy 23 south. Got on I-75 south just outside of Perrysville, Ohio and took it all the way to Findlay, Ohio where we got back on hwy 23 somehow and stopped in Carey, Ohio for some fuel for Clifford.
Clifford got an average of 10.6 mpg’s running at 60-70 mph.
Made our way through Upper Sandusky and through Mansfield, Ohio. Then the terrain started to change from flat land to more rolling hills and curves in the roads.
The road from Wooster to Apple Creek to New Philadelphia was a scenic route. Lots of Amish farms and barn quilts hanging on barns.
We needed to stop and get filled up on groceries for the week , so we stopped in Mew Philadelphia, Ohio that’s along the Tuscarawas River.
Once we were back on the road we made tracks to Uhrichville. Then on to Cadiz, Ohio. That drive through there was very scenic along the Tappan Lake.
We turned east on hwy 22 towards Bloomingdale, Ohio. Made our way through the little town and eventually to the Fernwood State Forest. This is where we are going to spend our work week at.
There’s a shooting range nearby and another campground down the road a bit further. We are at the Hidden Hollow Campground. There’s no fee for camping here and there’s about 15-20 spots. All with fire rings on and picnic tables and trash cans at every site. There’s a great view of the sky so Starlink is gonna work great.
Snow is in the forecast for tonight but likely no accumulation. The rest of the week will be in the mid 40’s at day and 20’s at night, so not too bad.
