Gayla woke up with the dogs stirring. I woke up to Gayla’s alarm clock going off.

We gathered up the house and wanted to get an early start on the road today heading northbound.

We left camp at 8:10 am and made a quick stop at Neville Cemetery to look around.

Stopped at Central City, Kentucky to get some groceries. We also made lunch and walked the dogs. Back on the road at 11:16 am.

We crossed over into Indiana from Hawesville, Kentucky. Made our way to Leopold, Indiana and took some back roads to Buzzards Roost in the Hoosier National Forest.

This free campground is very nice. Very clean vault toilet, picnic tables, fire pits. No hookups, no potable water either. We have enough water to last us the week here. This campsite is going to be our work place for this week overlooking the Ohio River. Several barges have already went by with big loads of coal. There is a half mile hiking trail here to walk the dogs on. This place only has 5 camp spots here but it’s worth it. Sites are smaller so no bumper pulls or 5th wheels here.

We went for a hike around camp then I set up an HF antenna for the week. I cooked up some chicken for dinner. Also had avocados too.

Tonight it’s supposed to rain and rain most of tomorrow day. The temperatures will drop back to the mid 60’s too so that will be nice.
