Dogs…they are such creatures of habit.  We’ve been staying at Gayla’s parents’ house now since the end of August.  They have a nice, big driveway and a big fenced in back yard.  The driveway is perfect for the RV and the yard is perfect for the wieners.  Typically when we stay here, we back into the driveway, so the living room slides out over the edge of the driveway and into the yard.  Our Jeep fits at the end of the driveway and another vehicle fits beside the RV.  They live on a cul-de-sac, so we always have plenty of room to pull the bus in where we need it.

So, with the RV backed into the driveway, the front door is furthest away from the back gate of the yard.  We have taught the three wieners to make a beeline for the fence.  They aren’t the best at healing; they would rather run full speed toward the gate.  The problem is they are easily side tracked and had gotten distracted by a squirrel or rabbit before.  Now talk about frustrating, trying to corral three wieners when all they want to do is hunt a varmint!

This past weekend, we took the RV out to dump and fill up with fuel.  When we returned to the house, we decided to try something new and pull in instead of back in.  Since the weather is getting colder, we thought it would be nice to have the RV door closer to the back yard gate and closer for us to walk into the house.  Even though the living room slide-out takes up driveway space, the same amount of vehicles still fit.

I have to tell, you…this new arrangement has really thrown the dogs for a loop.  It’s been three days now and they STILL run around the RV trying to look for the door.  What creatures of habit.
