We came to Dakota Ridge after spending a month at a couple of State Parks around the Denver area. I had to be close to the Louisville/Boulder area as I would have to go into the office I manage on a daily basis to complete a project. We couldn’t be too remote, because I had to have internet and cell phone coverage when I was working at home. When looking for possible long-term RV Parks, we were drawn to the Golden area. It is only about a 30 minute drive to Louisville and it seemed like a nice small town to hang around. There aren’t many choices in the area and when we called around, Dakota Ridge seemed a little more expensive than the others.
We decided before committing to any park, we would go visit them in person. We first went to a park that was across the street from Dakota Ridge and although the folks were very friendly over the phone, we didn’t care for how close together the sites were and the lack of grassy areas for the dogs. We were going to pass Dakota Ridge by because of the price, but decided since we were in the neighborhood, we’d take a drive around their park to check it out. We liked what we saw. The sites were fairly close together, but there was a nice space of grass between sites. There was also a pet walk and an Open Space behind the RV Park for short hikes with the dogs.
After careful consideration, we went ahead and chose Dakota Ridge for our home for the two remaining months we were to be in Colorado. We felt even though the price seemed high, it would be convenient for my work and the park seemed much nicer than most around. They have on-site propane, laundry, hot tub, and exercise room. All the staff is friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our two months there and loved the outdoor hot tub in the cold, snowy weather. We met some wonderful people and would go back in a heartbeat.
