Woke up to a really foggy morning at Blackfoot-Clearwater Wildlife Management Area.

Gayla made us up some coffee while I packed up the outside solar panels and Starlink.

Today was a touristy day for us. We’d seen that Garnet, Montana was a nearby ghost town. After some research we found out that we had to go visit it.

The road there was really steep and curvy. Mostly paved road with only a couple miles of dirt road.

The town was a mining town that started in the late 1800’s. In 1895 the town was about 1000 people and by 1905 only 150 remained. It is Montana’s most intact ghost town.

We did take the dogs with through our tour of the town. They needed the exercise as much as we needed it.

If you are ever in this area it is worth the drive to get to see this place. Lots of builds and some even have lots of relics in them from that era.

After the ghost town we stopped by the local fuel station to send off some mail at a post office drop box.

Eventually we made it back to Blackfoot Wildlife Management Area to find a campsite for the rest of the week.

They are calling for some cloudy weather and possibly some rain this week too. That’s good for the area.

After finding a campsite that would work I cooked up some steaks for an early supper or late lunch.

The dogs were pooped from the walk around the ghost town so they took a nap.

Gayla started preparing for the upcoming week with a bit of computer work.

I made sure that all the batteries were working on getting topped off by the solar panels for the upcoming cloudy days.

Gayla did some weaving on her big inkle. She’s got a nice Linsey/woolsy strap going on.
