Well I slept better than I thought I would at 9,500. I guess 10,000 is my limit for sleeping good. Woke up to 48° inside Clifford and had a few rain showers overnight.
Gayla and I enjoyed breakfast and coffee and watched a few YouTube videos and educated ourselves on some new things.
We left camp fairly early and we were just exploring around. No cellular service and no real set destination. Just following forest roads.
It wasn’t long before we found one on a map that looked interesting so we took it. It said one lane road ahead with turn outs.
19 miles or so later we found ourselves at a trailhead. Middle Beaver Trailhead to be exact.
IT was about noontime when we arrived. I was getting ready for stopping and having something to eat and possibly a nap. I’d been in low range for most of the day and under 10 mph.
We decided that we were going to spend the night here.
I cooked up some chicken and bacon for lunch and topped it off with some butter.
I took a small nap and woke refreshed. Gayla did some work for a bit while I napped.
It came a rain storm with some lightning while I was sleeping.
Somewhere in the scheme of things I decided that we should go for a little hike. Maybe like a mile or so. We loaded up the backpack and the dogs and then we were off. We hiked down to George’s Park. Soon as we got there we started to get rained on. Luckily it was a downpour. We made our way back to Clifford and the sun came out again.
The dogs took a nap and we rested too. Not used to hiking at 9,100 feet in elevation.
