Woke up to a beautiful sunrise and 55°.

Gayla had an early morning phone call with a client. The joys of being in different time zones.

We had coffee and a bit of chocolate and we were off.

Stopped by Luke Lynch Wildlife Management Area and did a quick POTA activation. It has never been activated before. It’s easy access. Maybe just no ham operators in the area to do such things. I did make contact with my brother back in Missouri. I had 20 total contacts and 17 unique. It’s a successful activation.

Gayla wanted to stop at Ridley’s the local grocery store and stock up on water and some doughnuts for the road.

We made our way to Slate Creek Campground along the Green River.

After arriving at Slate Creek we made lunch and rested a bit. Then we decided to get closer to Evanston, Wyoming.

We went through Kemmerer, Wyoming and I showed Gayla where the first J. C. Pennies is.

Our sights were set on Woodruff Narrows Reservoir. Upon arrival we just kinda picked a level-ish spot. It was very very windy. Did I mention it was windy???

I did activate this park Tod as well. US-11717. Got 30 unique contacts.

After packing up my radio equipment I noticed the front windshield was covered with midge flies. They’re swarming. It’s terrible.

Well not staying here tomorrow night.
