I slept in since we had a full day of exploring outside in the fresh air. We slowly got around and loaded up. Gayla needed to get a project done before we headed out though.
Left our camp at Teaberry Dispersed Camping Area at 11:55 AM.
Went through a little village of South Mountain, PA. then turned north on hwy 233. This hwy was a beautiful drive up to hwy 30 which is part of the Lincoln Hwy.
We stopped and looked around at Thaddeus Stevens blacksmith shop and the Caledonia built in 1837. Tis pretty neat that’s these things still exist today and they were in good condition.
We headed up Pine Grove rd. till Milesburn rd. and took a left. Then we started climbing in elevation. We passed by Long Pone Run Reservoir. Really a neat spot. We took a left on to Ridge Rd. and stayed on Ridge Road till see seen our campsite Haunted Hollow camp #9.
This campsite is nice. No other campers even close to you. Beautiful overlook to the southwest. It has a picnic table and fire ring.
Upon arrival I wanted to setup our 10’x15’ awning/shelter over the picnic table for shade. Well, we got a pop up shower that took us by surprise. Oh well. It all worked out.
I cooked up some hamburger and chorizo with a side of avocado for late lunch. We spent all afternoon outside with the dogs just enjoying the weather.
16.78 – miles driven today.
