We were packed up and on the road headed toward Snowy Range Byway by 9:00 AM. We stopped at Ames Monument National Historic Landmark by 10:00 AM. Oh my goodness! The road was rough and washboardy. And it was WINDY!!
We headed toward Laramie, Wyoming so that we could go grocery shopping and top off on fuel. By noon we were out of town and exploring. An hour and a half later, we settled on a campsite.
Campsite number 6 was off-grid. No cellular signal and no internet connection! We found a great tucked-away spot at 10,500 feet in elevation for the evening in the Snowy Range.
We had a moose visit us at camp! The wiener dogs loved all the new smells. The bed in the Suburban is so comfy. We did an average of 9 mpg climbing up from Cheyenne to the Snowy Range.
